The

beaches

of

El Médano

are found on the southern coast of the island of Tenerife, in the borough of

Granadilla de Abona

. These beaches are famous for being the longest of the island.

The beach of El Médano has fine, golden sand, and clear and tranquil waters making it a favourite for families, but it is also famous for being an ideal sport for Windsurf and Kitesurf thanks to its steady winds.

El Médano is a small town but is full of life all year round. Here you can find different companies specialised in organising outdoor sports and leisure activities, and it is the venue for events such as the International Folklore Festival and different world Windsurf championships and tests, in addition to a wide range of street parties and celebrations.
